Scarborough Home Break-Ins Reported During Early February

Break-In Activity Across Scarborough

Toronto Police Service has identified several residential break-ins across Scarborough during the opening days of February 2026. Although citywide residential break and enter numbers remain lower compared to the same time last year, police say residents should remain cautious and aware of activity in their neighbourhoods.

The incidents reported between Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 involved both houses and apartment buildings in different parts of Scarborough. Authorities continue to investigate each case and encourage community members to report suspicious behaviour.

February Break-In Activity Across Scarborough

So far in February, five Scarborough neighbourhoods have recorded residential break-ins. Many of the incidents occurred during overnight or early morning hours, which aligns with common patterns seen in property crime.

Police note that while some areas experienced isolated cases, others have previously recorded incidents earlier in the year. Ongoing patrols and targeted enforcement efforts remain in place.

Birchcliffe–Cliffside

An apartment near Courcelette Road and Queen Street East was the location of a reported break-in on Sunday, Feb. 1, at approximately 2 a.m.

Investigators are reviewing evidence and speaking with residents in the building to determine how entry was gained and whether any suspects were seen.

Guildwood

Police received a report of a break-in at a house near Nuffield Drive and Toynbee Trail on Sunday, Feb. 1, around 3 p.m.

This incident marked the first reported residential break-in in the Guildwood neighbourhood for 2026.

Highland Creek

A break-in was reported at a house near Calverley Trail and Canmore Boulevard on Sunday, Feb. 1, at approximately 3 a.m.

Officers remind homeowners to secure doors, windows, and garages, particularly overnight when most residents are asleep.

Steeles

An apartment near Tempo Avenue and Victoria Park Avenue was the site of a reported break-in on Saturday, Feb. 1, at approximately 11 a.m.

Police are working to determine whether this case may be connected to other recent incidents in the area.

West Hill

A break-in was reported at an apartment near Galloway Road and Lawrence Avenue East on Sunday, Feb. 2, around 12 p.m.

This neighbourhood has experienced multiple residential break-in reports earlier in the year, prompting continued police attention.

Community Safety Reminders

Toronto Police Service encourages residents to take practical steps to reduce the risk of break-ins:

  • Lock all doors and windows, even when at home
  • Use exterior lighting or motion-activated lights
  • Avoid leaving valuables visible
  • Report suspicious activity immediately

Police also advise neighbours to look out for one another and share information when possible.
